With UNESCO’s recent classification of Maltese as “potentially vulnerable,” and wanting to explore the realities and possibilities of European multilingualism within the context of hegemonic English, this survey is designed to understand Maltese speakers’ experiences and thoughts surrounding the use of the Maltese language, its place in Maltese society, and its potential future.
